A wonderful presentation and reading at Baycrest last Friday afternoon November 29.
The audience was curious and attentive as Ellen Jaffe and I read excerpts from our books, and shared some of our own stories. And then the audience took over, sharing their stories of lives led in difficult times, some from the Holocaust, immigrant experiences and raising families in a strange land with so few extended family around them. When I thanked them, one woman said, “i’m just glad I lived to tell you.” No more words.
