The Power of Poetry: Out of the Ivory Tower into Everyday Life.
June 5, 2014 Queen Saulter Library
LOCATION: 765 Queen St., East.
TIME: tba
Ann Elizabeth Carson and Ellen S. Jaffe will talk about the power and importance of poetry in our lives, and how it speaks to the heart of our experiences.
They will read from their own work and from some of their favourite poets, and talk about using poetry with children, seniors, and other people in the community.
Both these poets are celebrating new books: Ann’s We All Become Stories (blue denim press) was launched in the fall of 2013,
and Ellen’s Skinny-Dipping with the Muse (Guernica Editions) is appearing in late spring
2014.
They will bring a selection of their books to this event.
