You and your friends won’t want to miss Ann Elizabeth Carson’s poetry reading at the inaugural session of an exciting new series: The Toronto Urban Folk Art Salon, hosted by poet/violinist Gannon Hamilton, presented in partnership with the Toronto Public Library and held in their branch located at 599 Mount Pleasant Road.
The event will take place from 6 to 8 PM, on Thursday, February 25th. in the cozy and venerable upstairs activity room, which has a 70 person capacity. For those of you who have yet to hear Ann Elizabeth read, here is an opportunity to experience her brilliantly crafted poems in a comfortable, acoustically warm setting.
She will be joined by Brenda Clews, whose ingenious video-poetry is making waves in both underground and more conspicuous art scenes. Featured as well, is Norm Cristofoli, distinguished poet, review editor and host of the city’s most celebrated private poetry and music salon. In the entertainment lineup with these three outstanding readers will be Toronto’s legendary urban folk minstrel, Glen Hornblast, established and beloved singer-songwriter Kirk Felix, and melodic-lyrical master, Jeff Orson. The Toronto Urban Folk Art Salon will be held on the last Thursday of each month at the Mount Pleasant branch of the Toronto Public Library.
