Feb 2, 2013, 1.30-4.30 p.m: We look forward to seeing you at the February 2 edition of Portobello Saturdays at 995 Bay St where the music, the words and the food are always good. I will read excerpts from two manuscripts: We All Become Stories, Make Yours a Good One, 12 stories that reframe aging as a life-long evolution relevant to people of any age, and Laundry Lines, poetic and narrative reflections on life and nature.
Portobello Saturdays, which are monthly gatherings of poets, authors, musicians, songwriters, storytellers and assorted artists and appreciative and enthusiastic audiences hosted by poet Linda Stitt and musician Peter Somes.
There are usually two featured performers and four guest presenters. There is no cover charge and Khairul, chef and proprietor of the Portobello Cafe, offers a special menu of delicious food at reasonable prices. A warm and welcoming venue and a delightful way to spend the first Saturday afternoon of the month among friends.
Max Layton is the featured musician, guest poets are Lucile Barker and Ariel Len, guest musicians are Jim McCuaig and Rita Visser.
Portobello Cafe is at 995 Bay St, just north of Wellesley. For further information contact Linda Stitt at lmstitt@sympatico.ca.
